Short answers about the game, the money and the device. Anything missing? support@rookiepath.app.

Is Rookiepath free?

Yes. Rookiepath is free to download and play, with no ads and no subscription. Rookiepath Pro is a one-time $6.99 purchase, and the three packs are optional.

What does Pro include?

A sandbox start (choose your prospect's star rating), up to five careers at once, every team color for the app, your career stat history and a comparison table against the league's all-time legends at your position. Pro is tied to your Apple ID: on a new phone, open the More tab and tap Restore purchases.

What do the packs do?

Tip Jar is a thank-you to the developer (it also lifts your player's morale a little). Training Fund gives you a private coach for 18 weeks, so your skills grow faster while you're still developing (the shop says when your player is past that). Agent Retainer puts a top agency at the table for your next contract; it's for pro careers, and it stays on until you sign. None of them is required, nothing in the game waits for a timer, and you can't buy a starting job: snaps still come from your rating and the coach's trust.

Which positions can I play?

Quarterback, running back, wide receiver, linebacker and cornerback. Each has its own skills, stat line and league leaders.

Am I the coach or the player?

The player. You don't call plays or run the team; you plan your week, play the game and live with the depth chart, the contract and the injuries that follow. If you want a GM or head-coach game, this isn't it.

How does a career go?

Senior year of high school, then scholarship offers and three college seasons (a fourth if you stay), then the combine, draft night and a pro career until you retire or nobody calls. A full career is a few hours of play; every run is different.

Is there an Android version?

No. Rookiepath is an iPhone game (iOS 17 or later). An Android version is not planned at the moment.

Does it work on iPad?

It's built for iPhone. On an iPad it installs and runs as an iPhone app, in a smaller window.

Which countries is it available in?

The United States App Store only, for now.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. The game runs fully offline. Only purchases go through Apple.

Where are my careers saved?

On your iPhone, every week, with backups. They're included in your iPhone backup. There's no online account, so deleting the app deletes your careers.

Are the teams, players or awards real?

No. Every league, team, player, coach, college and award in Rookiepath is generated and fictional, and any resemblance to real people or organizations is coincidental. The numbers behind the simulation (scoring, injury rates, the rookie pay scale, career length) are tuned to public real-world data.

Is it an arcade game?

No. You never steer a player or time a throw. Rookiepath is a career simulation: you make weekly decisions and the game plays out on a time bar with the key moments as they happen.

Was AI used to make Rookiepath?

The code was written with Claude Code, and the event texts were drafted with AI and then edited by hand. There is no AI-generated art, and nothing AI runs inside the app.

How do I report a bug or get help?

Email support@rookiepath.app with your iPhone model, iOS version and app version (shown at the bottom of the More tab), or tap SEND FEEDBACK in the app. We read every message.

How do refunds work?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
